Greg Albrecht – Executive Advisor, Investor, Keynote Speaker
Since the age of 19, he has been launching new brands and products. Initially working as a manager in the IT industry, then as an entrepreneur, investor and advisor. His mission is to empower entrepreneurs in their quest for greatness by supporting their business and life decisions.
From the block to business
He grew up in the pre-Internet era, to a family of scientists of modest means, who raised him with the habit of getting to know the world through his own experience. He has developed his business acumen in the same way.
Greg has always loved art. He has written poetry and painted and is passionate about hip-hop. Greg earned his first buck as a 14-year-old decorating the wall of a modelling shop in Warsaw with graffiti
At the age of 19, he began his career as a salesman in a company importing computer hardware from China. He didn’t know much about hardware nor sales, but quickly became one of the best salesmen in the team.
Having got promoted within a year to begin independently introducing new products to the market. He found suppliers in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, negotiated terms of cooperation, managed the process of package design, logistics, and media relations. The digital cameras that he introduced to the market, gained 3% market share and won many awards in industry magazines.
Entrepreneur and advisor
Greg is experienced in building companies from scratch. In a search for independence, he quit his corporate job to build one of the first interactive agencies in Poland. He has worked with leading local and global companies including Novartis, Bank Pekao SA, Mazda, Interia, Mio, Toshiba, Intel and Canon. He was one of the co-founders of the first nationwide television channel for farmers, available in eight million households. He created and sold an interior decoration e-commerce platform.
Greg advises leaders how to increase the competitiveness of businesses and avoid burnout while achieving that goal. He also supports boards’ decision-making processes during the turning points in those companies’ history. He has worked with over 200 companies from Europe, Asia and North America. His clients include corporate executives, as well as small family business owners.
The Startup world
In the Startup industry, he found an outlet for his passion of creating new projects, supporting entrepreneurs and building business models.
He has become part of the startup market as a mentor and an investor. Using the power of effective pitch he convinced 50 Cent to choose his client’s company as the best project in a startup competition.
He is a partner in Albrecht&Partners boutique, which builds startups on behalf of existing organizations and supports the transformation of business models to secure future growth.
He is a venture partner in the VC Data Ventures fund – specializing in investment in B2B startups based on data analysis. Supporting the selection and development of investment projects.
He has invested, as a business angel in several projects, among others, in Sundose – a personalized diet supplement, a project that won recognition and a grant from PARP.
Greg is passionate about sharing his experiences as a speaker. He inspires others to look for new solutions for running businesses, during conferences and closed speeches.
More than 10.000 people have watched him on stage within the last two years. He has performed, among others, in the Said Business School in Oxford, the Product Leaders conference in Bucharest and the Business Wisdom Summit in Kiev. For the last three years he has been giving lectures at the Leon Kozminski Academy in Warsaw.
He uses Power Speech, as an educational and motivational tool for corporate events targeted at both their employees and clients. As a speaker he has worked for, among others, USP Zdrowie, Play, Orange, ING Bank Śląski, Deutsche Bank, Grupa Żywiec, Poczta Polska, PGE, Avon, Phillip Morris and GSK.
Outside of business
Greg is interested in psychology and literature. He is a certified coach of the International Coaching Community – using these tools when working with leaders in their decision-making process.
As a graduate of the Swedish Institute Management Program, he puts great emphasis on corporate social responsibility. He is a mentor at the foundations of Youth Business Poland and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Poland.
He loves physical activity and following a healthy lifestyle. He is a diving instructor (he has spent over 250 hours underwater), finished three half-marathons and two marathons, and regularly meditates. He has visited over 60 countries. Greg shares his experiences and life on LinkedIn and in Business Life Polska magazine. He lives in Warsaw with his wife Martyna.
